Late one January afternoon I thought I saw a Snowy Owl perched in a tree down the eastern Beech Hill slope, so Jack and I headed in that direction. Turns out the owl had been sitting in the middle of the field behind the tree. At about seventy-five yards away, I managed a couple of photos in the waning light, the gray bay islands behind it. |
