Scarlet Tanager, 19 May 2013

In the month of May, in the mixed growth woodlands of Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport, Maine, I happened upon a singing Scarlet Tanager. An overcast sky made the light rather dim, but when the bird took flight, it didn’t matter.
