While walking the woods in April, before the leaves come out, if you pay really close attention you might notice a plain, brown bird flit quietly up onto a tree branch. If it’s a comely bird with a spotted breast, and if when it sings it makes you want to swoon—well, that would be a Hermit Thrush.
