In summer—more specifically, during a few days about the end of August—a certain species of fly will hatch. And great numbers of this particular fly will swirl around in large, floating swarms. And when they do, the Cedar Waxwings notice. And they’ll take wing and hover in the air, just hoovering up these swirling flies.
